About the Project 

The custom built device is a High resolution camera with a OnBoard SoC with for real-time processing of people coming in and out of a specified area. It is aimed at occupancy measurement and people counting in retail and commercial environments.

PoE over Ethernet is used as the main link to the central servers and power, it can also employ onboard Wifi to connect to the main server. In case of standalone mode it can locally store data on onboard storage for later access.

The camera can employ multiple algorithms best suited to a environment, For ex people counting in environments with moving object and low height it uses Optical Flow , While in environments with static background and larger areas it uses Object tracking.

Camera also support wifi fingerprinting to capture wifi pings for Wifi Analytics.
